The New Castle County Police responded to a small cemetery in Minquadale Sunday morning that was struck by vandals who knocked over numerous gravestones causing significant damage.
On Sunday, September 27, at approximately 8:30 a.m., New Castle County Police Patrol Units were sent to the 300 block of Wildel Ave, in the community of Minquadale, for the report of a criminal mischief to a small cemetery called the Machzikey Hadas Cemetery. Neighboring residents to the cemetery called to report that someone had caused the damage overnight.
The arriving patrol unit found significant damage to numerous gravestones and a flower pot. Several gravestones were knocked over and separated from their bases and one gravestone was cracked.
The dollar amount of the damage sustained is still being determined at this time.
