When the sun goes down it gets dark!

Make sure you set up your tent before it starts getting dark. There are security lights, but you will need a flashlight or headlamp too.

At night It will get cold. Like cold-cold.

Once the sun goes down it will get cold. The forecast has the temperature getting to 50 degrees or lower. Make sure you have proper clothing including extra socks, blankets, and the like. Please note that tent heaters are not permitted for safety reasons.

Make use of the safety bracelets.

At check-in you will receive a tyvek bracelets for your kids and you will be asked to write a contact number on them where you can be reached during the event. Please use them, and make sure to put them on snug enough to stay on.

Orient yourself.

Know the lay of the land and set up some rules for your family ahead of time. Make a meet up plan in case of emergency. Show your kids the location of the Command Unit and let them know this is where they can go should they get lost. Take notice of the closest letter and number to your campsite to help find your camp.

Check the schedule.

Activities start anywhere between 12 and 8 p.m. Don't miss a thing!

There is no lights out.

Camping near the security light seems like a good idea...until you're trying to sleep. Security lights stay on all night.

Make a potty plan.

Camp near the port-a-potties or bring your own! Bring wipes and extra toilet paper just in case. Port-a-potties are located near security lights.

Find a quiet spot.

Keep in mind that the areas around the bonfires tend to attract activity approaching, and sometimes after, quiet time. The farther away from the bonfires you camp, the quieter it should be.

Listen.

In the unlikely event of a severe weather event or emergency, please listen to all announcements and instructions that will be provided to you by the Command Post, police and EMS and comply in a calm manner. Police and EMS will be stationed on-site throughout the event and weather conditions are monitored on-site.

Have fun!

Once you're all set up just sit-back, relax, have fun and be safe!
