Carousel Park & Equestrian Center

Effective immediately, the main entrance to Carousel Park and Equestrian Center will be closed to the public. 

Visitors wishing to access the walking path, dog park and fishing pond may park in one of the satellite parking areas.  Satellite parking areas are located on Skyline Drive, Old Linden Hill Road, and Route 7 (Farmers Market Entrance). [MAP]

As of Monday, March 16, 2020, all riding programs and services at Carousel Park are suspended until further notice for the safety of public health due to the Coronavirus. While Carousel Park will remain open to the public, all Equestrian Center facilities - the barns, the offices, bathrooms and the areas immediately surrounding the equestrian buildings, and the cross-country course - will be closed to the public for the duration of this suspension.

The breezes are blowing and the birds are singing all throughout the beautiful 200+ acres of Carousel Park and Equestrian Center. Carousel features sweeping meadows, ponds and a lake, miles of tranquil walking trails, and a one of a kind bark park. Enjoy the serenity of nature as the swans, ducks, and geese glide peacefully on the lake.

 Home of the New Castle County Mounted Patrol, all visitors to the park will enjoy the beauty and grace of magnificent horses roaming the meadows. Open daily from dawn until dusk.

As of Monday, March 16, 2020, all Sports and Recreation programs and services are suspended until further notice for the safety of public health due to the Coronavirus, including programs at Rockwood Museum, Carousel Park Equestrian Center, Hockessin Rec Center, Garfield Park Rec Center, Brandywine Town Center, Appoqunimink Rec Center, The Art Studio, Glasgow Bank Barn and Frazier House, and Absalom Jones Senior Center.

Also closed are all libraries and The Reader’s Café at the Route 9 Library.

Parks remain open for exercise and fresh air.
